Hello,
I have recently updated my avast antivirus and now then I see it there has been an error with it which shows that system is unprotected and it is not going into active mode.
It is as if it has gotten virus through the update process. Now someone kindly help me with this process since it is creating a lot more trouble than usual.

I think your antivirus is disabled. Users usually encounter this kind of problem with their antivirus that automatically got disabled for no reason. This is common if your antivirus is a trial version or a demo version.
If an antivirus is in a trial version, it will automatically be disabled after the trial period has already been exhausted.
You don’t have the option to enable it back unless you buy its license key. Check if your Avast Antivirus is a registered version or not. If it’s not a registered version, I think you need to replace it with a different antivirus because it will never work again unless you buy a license key.
But if your Avast Antivirus is registered to your name and this happens, try uninstalling it then check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system.
After the disk check, install your antivirus again and register it using your license key. Try a few system restart to see if it will not go back to being disabled again.
