I have been using an iPhone 4 for the last few months. Recently I went to make ‘restore’.

Then I got the following error message.

The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2001)

The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2001).

It happened at the time of its being in a reboot loop. Attempting to put it into DFU or  ‘Restore mode’ and restoring apple stock, the error 2001 is caused.

I have made restarting both the devices several times, but all my attempts went in vain. Error 2006 also took place and then I tried with all other type cables, but all my efforts ended in smoke.

Do you have any other idea? Please help me. I am in a fix.

Hi Jose,

Try this:

Before iPhone is being detected, press on home button. The keep it pressed down until the message appears that saying that the phone has been detected in a recovery mode. Follow the steps indicated and it may take also 30 seconds. And also charged the unit from AC for a while and restart your PC. Connect it directly to the USB w/ cable and avoiding the hub that comes w/ the phone.

Hope it will help you.
