IPhone4 battery draining extremely fast iOS 5.0.1

Hello Friends,

My iPhone 4 was updated to iOS5.0.1 and overnight the battery was drained by 40%. This was 7hrs while I was sleeping. Note that 3G was on and all my apps were closed. In the morning I charged the battery and again by lunch time 60% was used up. I answered a few calls.

I did not use the internet, and my 3G was on. I observed the battery lasted longer when I had iOS5. I now regret the update I did. Please provide a simple solution.

Hi Joshua,

This was also my problem before. 

Leaving the 3G on even if you do not use the internet consumes a lot of power. So whenever I am at home, I turn the 3G off and just use our Wi-Fi to stay online. What I also did is to download "Battery Doctor" from the Apple Store. There are actually different "Battery Doctor" applications which you can choose from. The basic idea of this "Battery Doctor" is to enable your phone to use low power consumption by shutting down applications which you do not use.
