Few hours back, I tried to update my iPod touch(5th Generation, 32 GigaBytes) to iOS 8.2 through iTunes on my PC rather than using WiFi. No sooner had I pressed the 'connect to iTunes' button, I got a error and everything went in vain. Right now, my iPod is freezed at the update screen with a Apple icon and an empty progress bar.

IPod stuck at update screen. What to do next?
First of all, you need to eject your iPod from iTunes and your computer and then restart and/or reset it. I have listed the steps below:
Eject your iPod safely from iTunes and your computer:
-
From within iTunes:
-
On iTunes, select your iPod from the Source list
-
Click on the Eject button from the Controls menu
-
Eject your iPod from your computer:
-
Eject your iPod by pressing the Command+E buttons on your computer. This will only work if the iPod is selected in the iTunes Source list
-
If you are using a Mac – Click on the Finder icon in the Dock (The Dock is the row of icons at the bottom of the screen) and select the iPod icon. Click on the File menu, and choose Eject iPod.
-
If you are using Windows – Go to Start and right click on Computer and right click on the iPod icon. From the shortcut menu that pops up, choose Eject.
-
Restart your iPod
-
Press and hold in the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider shows on the screen
-
Turn your iPod off by dragging the slider
-
After the iPod is off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo appears
-
To Reset your iPod
-
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 15 seconds (until the Apple logo appears on the screen)
