Method 1
a. Press Windows + R, type Regedit, and press enter.
b. Expand to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager.
c. Double-click on BootExecute.
d. Replace the entry with – autocheck autochk *.
e. Hit enter.
Method 2
a. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
b. Type chkntfs /x c: and press enter.
c. Note – c is the drive letter.
Method 3
a. Press Shift + Alt + Delete on your keyboard.
b. Open the task manager.
c. Locate CHKDSK.
d. Right-click -> Details -> Note the PID.
e. Open Command Prompt as an Admin.
f. Type taskkill /F PID ###.
g. Note – Replace ### with the PID (noted in step 4).
h. Done.
