iOS 9 is the ninth release or the ninth version of the iOS mobile operating system developed by Apple Inc. and the successor to iOS 8. It is packed with enhancements. The enhancements done at the foundation of the operating system improves its performance, extends battery life as well as the security. It now provides new proactive suggestions to assist you in getting things done even before you ask.

iOS 9 was announced on June 8, 2015 during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference. It was officially released on September 16, 2015. The enhancements done on this new operating system was more on the optimization side than on new features. Currently, the latest version is iOS 9.2 and is the second major update to the iOS 9 mobile operating system.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the latest Android mobile operating system and is the eleventh version developed under a confectionery-themed codename. It was first announced on May 28, 2015 at the Google I/O under the codename Android M which is a developer preview. After releasing a number of updates to the Android M developer preview, on August 17, 2015, it was officially named as Marshmallow.

Together with the 2015 Nexus devices, on September 29, 2015, Google finally announced the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Android 6.0 Marshmallow has new power management systems called App Standby and Doze. When the handset is running on battery, the device will enter into a low-power state if it is idle and not physically handled. In this state, background processing and network connectivity is limited.

The system only processes high-priority notifications.
