Issue Named As 80240016 Error Occurred With The Windows Update

When the Microsoft Update Client cannot access the user token because the token gets corrupted or damaged or the dependency dll files are missing or replaced by driver software, then the error occurs named as 80240016 error. The error code description “Error message when you try to install updates from the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site: 80240016.”

The solutions to fix the error code are as follows:

Solution 1: Fix using Advanced System Repair Tool.

Step 1: Download and install Advanced System Repair Tool.
Step 2: Scan the Windows PC.
Step 3: Click on the Fix button to Repair.

Solution 2: Restart the Windows Update Service.

Step 1: Open the command prompt as administrator.
Step 2: Now, run the following command:

net stop wuauserv
net start wuauserv
