I used to own a 2007 model HCL desktop. As it got older, I kept facing multiple problems quite frequently throughout the years of usage. The most common occurrences where when the hardware, namely the printer, the keyboard or the mouse would not function properly all of a sudden. One of the other problems was when the media player did not produce sound, but the software was working and the sound was not being produced from the speakers. These were the issues I was looking to resolve.
Issues Of 2007 Model HCL Desktop
At first, I checked for any blinking lights from the hardware devices, that might be an indicator of a problem. I then made sure the connections between the CPU and the devices were on point by removing the then male port and fixing it tightly. In case of a printer, I checked if all the printer drivers were installed properly and up to date. In case of a wireless mouse or a keyboard, I tried changing batteries and pushed the connection button to re-establish a connection. For the keyboard, there might be dust accumulated between the keys, thus I used a slightly damp cloth to clean the gaps while the power was off.
In the case of the speaker problem, I ensured the connections were right and made sure the speakers were not muted. These remedies worked most of the times. Which means computers are often associated with problems are quite easy to resolve.
