I have a home office and I am wondering if having a scanner is necessary? I am thinking that with a phone, I should be able to take a picture and save the document after emailing it to myself? Does anyone else utilize this type of technology? I would hate to go buy a scanner if not necessary, or is that the recommended route? Thank you.

As you have a home office and you are the all in all of the office so I think that your opinion is the most effective. This is a good idea to use the mobile phone's camera instead of scanner for saving data. If you are really like to do this, just use a mobile phone which have high quality picture taking capability. You are free to do anything in your own office and I really like your decision about using this knowledge.
