Is it possible to have TSM multiple servers?

Hi and good day!

Is it possible to have a TSM multiple servers sharing all nodes/DB or other data? I’d like to use some tape libraries in my environment but my TSM server can’t handle the hardware. Is there a TSM equivalent to that? Any help would be nice.

Is it possible to have TSM multiple servers?

 

Hi there,

 

No, it is not possible to share data among multiple TSM servers. However, it is possible to share a library and that is the nearest you can come to the multiple TSM servers. 

 

To do that you need to define one of the servers as the one in charge to control the library (Library manager server). After it is configured you will be able to access the data from all the other servers called clients.
