I am developing a game for IPad. I am just wondering if I need to add a disclaimer to IPad or some sort of waiver before users play the game. I don’t see disclaimers from other games. But my boss told me to add one.
I am just confused. Any idea?
Is it really required to add a disclaimer to iPad?
Hi,
Disclaimer means specifying and limiting the rights of the viewers and players of your game. This also means that when they are playing, they are agreeing to your to the content, agreement, and terms bounded in your game.
Having this also means that the game is made by you and it is one way of acknowledging your efforts done to develop the game.
Though it is not a compulsory to put a disclaimer, It is best to put one to limit expectations and acknowledgement for the author.
Regards,
Diane

A “disclaimer,” in general, is any statement meant to indicate the span of rights and obligations that may be implemented and enforced by parties in a legally recognized relationship. It normally denotes situations that include some level of risk, hesitation, or waiver. In law, it is a statement forbidding responsibility intended to avoid civil liability or accountability that results from specific acts or omissions.
It may take effect as a term of the contract between the person who is thereby prevented from suing and the person making the disclaimer. This is commonly found in “terms and conditions” in software when a user is installing a program. On websites, a disclaimer is placed in an effort to limit your liability for the result of the use of your website.
