Is it safe to do JVC monitor calibration on my own?
I have little experience troubleshooting electronic appliances. But is it safe (for me and for the LCD TV) to test my JVC monitor calibration skill?
Have you done it before?

No I did not try it before, but calibrating of your LCD TV is safe for you and your TV because you will only adjust the brightness or contrast of your TV. You can also adjust the colour temperature or gamma curve of it. If you are planning to open your LCD TV and you have a little experience it will be dangerous because of the different wire and setup of it. It can cause electrocution on yourself and destroy your TV in the process.
Calibrating your monitor is done by software. Whether you are using an analog display or an LCD/LED monitor, it can easily be calibrated by installing a piece of software. To effectively calibrate the display, they recommend that the monitor is located on a room with enough lighting. There are many calibration tools you can download on the internet for free.
One is Calibrize. It is a free application that will help you calibrate the colors of your display in three simple steps. Just download the program and follow the instructions to generate a dependable color profile and automatically adjust the colors of your monitor. Another one is QuickGamma.
It is a small utility program that allows you to calibrate your display on the fly without the need to buy expensive hardware tools like colorimeter. It supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 and requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Service Pack 1.
