Is it safe to use dead battery with HP laptop

I have a HP laptop bought in the year 2011. The battery of the laptop now is totally dead. It doesn't give back for more than 5 seconds. I am planning to buy a battery soon. But, My question is, whether it is safe to have a dead battery in laptop while using the laptop from mains power. Can i remove the battery of the laptop? is it safe? Please let me know if you have faced any issues with the laptop being used with out battery. Also, please suggest on the websites where i can buy batteries online. Many Thanks

Is it safe to use dead battery with HP laptop

It is not preferred to use dead battery in the laptop because it may lead to overheating of laptop. Continuous charging of battery is not good, because it cause bulging of battery which is not good.

You can remove your battery and use your laptop by directly connecting to power supply but it won’t do the purpose of a laptop completely.
