I have recently upgraded my operating system to Windows 8.1 so as to have access to the extra feature added. In addition to that I am a Kaspersky user. However, I tried to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 recently and it fails to go past the installation window. What could cause this?I do not have any other anti virus installed. Should I downgrade the operating system?

Hello,
Kaspersky is one of the best security providing solution that has been kept thousands of PC free from malware and other kinds of threats. In order to install Kaspersky Internet Security on Windows 8.1, you have to get the proper installer from their website in order to successfully complete the installation as Windows 8.1 is completely different than other Windows including Windows 8.
Download Kaspersky Internet Security 2015. After the installation file downloading is complete, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to perform the installation perfectly. You can get the help for installation from here.
If you face any problem, you can use this “kavremover.exe” to remove all the existing installation of any Kaspersky product and their leftover files and registries. Here’s how you’ll use “kavremover.exe”.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 Failed to Install.
If you are installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 on your Windows 8.1, I don’t think you will have a problem because the operating system is supported. Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 supports Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Home and Professional), Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate), Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate), and Windows 8.
If Kaspersky doesn’t install, it is probably because you forgot to install a required component. Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 requires .NET Framework 4. If you don’t have this on your computer, the program will not install. To fix the problem, download Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and install it. Once installed, install Kaspersky again. It should fix the problem.
