Hi tech people,
When I try to run the service pack for Skype in the laptop, I stuck up with a setup error message. I tried to run the different service pack but I get this error message. Then I try to run the service pack, which is compatible with version still I get this error.Â

KB2618444 Setup Error
Setup has detected that the version of the Service Pack installed on your system is lower than what is necessary to apply this hotfix.
At minimum, you must have service pack 3 installed.

KB2618444 Setup Error need minimun service pack 3 installed
Windows Update is the easiest way to keep your system up to date. But sorry to hear that you’re using Windows XP. It is a very old version of Windows series. Windows XP consists of 3 Service Packs. It looks like you’re trying to install a SP3 update on older SPs.
To solve this issue, you have to update to Windows XP SP3 first.
-
Download the ISO file of Windows XP SP3.
-
Burn it to a blank CD/DVD. You can use ISO Workshop for this purpose. This software is clean, fast and efficient to work with ISO files.
-
Boot from the CD/DVD.
-
Continue installation.
If it requires to install Windows XP SP2 first, download Windows XP SP2.
After your system has been updated to SP3, the update is available to be applied. This is because SP3 includes more system upgrades, fixes and components to install the update that aren’t present on older versions.
