Hi,
All of the sudden, when I try to update apps on my iPad 2 from the App Store I keep getting this error:
"Error 1004 please try again later."
But the thing is, I can update my iPhone 4 apps with no problems.
Anyone knows what's up with this?
Thank you.

This is a problem that is experienced by most of the apple users while upgrade. Try this out. To fix this problem you have to go into 'Settings' then 'General' then 'Reset' and press 'Reset All Settings'. Once done error 1004 should disappear and you can start downloading / updating your apps again.
Cheers.

Hi there.
First of all I would suggest that you check out this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204770 This error 1004 of yours is closely related to an error 1013, and they are both usually the result of connection to gs.apple.com being blocked or redirected. There are a couple of ways to resolve this issue, but I'll show you the way that I prefer the most:
1. You'll need to check software security, which really means that you have to confirm that communication with gs.apple.com is allowed. If you are unsure about what to do, please check the following link about assistance with security software: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201413
2. Please check the hosts file, because restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com Again, if you are unsure about what to do, please follow this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201400, there you have explained how to edit the hosts file or revert to default on Windows. You can look it up in the section Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X/Windows) – Rebuild network information.;
3. You can also use some other known-good computer and network to try and restore it;
4. If the same error report repeats on other computers, it is possible that your device may need service.
This would be about everything, and should help you solve the problem.

Reset your time zone settings. Be sure that the date and time is correct. If this does not work, the error may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked.
Check the security software, see to it that gs.apple.com is allowed. Read the article on iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. Read iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting under Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information.
If this does not solve the problem, the device might need servicing.
