Keyboard keys not functioning properly

Hi there,

I have recently purchased Tesoro's Cherry Key keyboard, it was working well then all of sudden some keys are on and off, I have tried blowing thinking debris could be the problem but nothing changed, how can I run cdebconf-newt-detect-keys in Ubuntu 13.10 to get the keyboard layout to check the keyboard layout?

Keyboard keys not functioning properly

Hello,

The package is required to find out the layout of any keyboard. This package should not be installed as it might do any trouble with your system.

Download cdebconf-newt-detect-keys for Ubuntu. This is a UDEB file. You can install it via command line:

sudo dpkg -i packagename

Now your keyboard should function perfectly.

Also, those keys might become broken from inside. If it happens, no software can fix it until you replace it with a brand new keyboard.
