Kobo Arc 10HB freezes and crashes when viewing notification bar

I am worried for my Kobo Arc 10HB. It has developed this weird habit of freezing when I pull down the notification bar. It remains frozen for a while, and then it crashed and shuts down. When I turn it on again, it seems to attempt to open the notification bar, but it ends up freezing again. What could be causing this?

Kobo Arc 10HB freezes and crashes when viewing notification bar

If your Kobo Arc 10HD keeps on freezing every time you open the notification bar, try resetting your tablet to factory default. If you can still access the menu without freezing the device, from the home screen navigate to Menu, Settings, Advanced, and then Reset Device Now. Before resetting, make sure to backup your important data because it will be deleted when you reset the tablet.

If you have a hard time accessing the menu because the tablet freezes, there is still a way to reset the device to factory default. Turn off the device. Press and hold the Home button and then turn on the tablet. This will cause the device to start the factory reset.

When you follow this method, you will not see any yes or no prompt on the screen. And make sure not to turn off the tablet while it is resetting your device to factory default.
