Laser Paper Vs. Copy Paper To Get Better Performance.
LIQUID:
Paper and moisture do not mix properly. But when we spray liquid into the inkjet papers then they perform well. Liquid sinks into the regular paper, spreads and prints with blurry edges. But inkjets have coatings that prevent the blurring by the concept of rapid drying. HEAT: Laser printers melt toner on paper. The main criterion for selection of paper is the level of heat generated by fuser rollers. The laser papers are heat resistant. They have special coatings. When we put a regular paper inside the printer, it may melt the thing ruining the sheet and harming the printer. Such a case is not present in laser papers.
MEDIA:
Laser media are heat resistant. Inkjets have high brightness to prevent the paper from interfering with the vividness of the image printed.
COLORLOK PAPERS:
ColorLok papers have chemical properties to separate the liquid and the colorant present in the ink. Colorant separated is left on the surface of paper. Liquid is sucked away. They have low friction which extends the life of laser printers.
If you want to just print and the quality does not matter much you can go with the copy papers. They are cheap. But if the quality matters, then laser printers require laser paper due to the above mentioned features. Though they are expensive but presentation is also a key factor.
