The version is Google Chrome 21.0.1155.2 Dev which is based on chromium core. Can’t this dev be run side-by-side with the latest stable version of Chrome?

You can use two web browsers simultaneously if you want.

However, in your case, Google Chrome 21.0.1155.2 Dev is still a beta version and not a full-fledged web browser. Having two browsers side by side can help you determine which work to do on which browser and sometimes gives you extra options if one browser is not running well.

The caution you shall take care is to know first which are the system requirements of Google Chrome 21.0.1155.2 Dev and then only run it on your computer.

If it’s not matching I will advise you not to run it along with Google Chrome.
