If you wish to calculate the ratio of two numbers in Microsoft Excel, you can use the Greatest Common Divisor function or the TEXT and SUBSTITUTE functions for this purpose.

For calculating the ratio, you must divide the width by the GCD and the height also by the GCD. Additionally, a colon can be put between the numbers.

To get the ratio in above example, input this formula in cell E4:

The result is 4:3, which is the ratio for those dimensions.
