Hello. I am Nishtha, an undergraduate student, and I’m working on a project in which I came to know about the percentage difference formula. So can you tell me, What is the percentage difference formula, and how can we calculate the increase of 9%?

Learn Formula for percent difference

Hi, Nishtha.

The percentage difference formula is equal to the absolute value of the change in value, which is then divided by the average of the 2 numbers and multiplied by 100.

Now, for calculation the increase of 9%,

1) Multiply the original VALUE by 0.2

or multiply it by 1.2 to find the total VALUE.

2) Now divide the value by 1.2 to know the original value.
