Learn how to develop XNA action RPG?

My friend is planning to learn video game development. He has vast experience with .NET technologies. But he's quite hesitant to use XNA for RPG development. Do you think it is a good career move to build XNA action RPG?

I think .Net is very good for RPG for beginners. XNA is more complicated than .Net, but it can make a better RPG. You may need a lot of trainings and tutorials before you become an expert with XNA. I have attached  a tutorial site and also a forum so that you can have a lot of reference for your learning with XNA.
