Hi. To learn how to make a book index, review the book and note down all those terms which you want to save as an Index and then save all of them in a text file. Next, select a program such as Adobe reader or MS-Word for creating an index of the file. However, these applications are time-consuming and this is the reason why it is better to use the index generator which not only locates the words at a faster rate but also create an index of the file quickly. Open the PDF generator and define what all has been of importance from the book. Make sure that the application creates an index on the basis of these selected terms only. After the index has been created, each term will be shown along with the page on which it is present. 

These results obtained can be edited by adding header and sub-headers to the page. Also select a final index for the book which also suits it. Decide where you would like to insert this index. It can either be published on another PDF document or in a text file. It can also be added to the book which you have just finished. A book index serves to be of a lot of importance as it helps to find information which is of importance to the users. If the user finds an object of his interest right in the index of the book, he buys it. So, a good index is equivalent to good sales.
