I am getting error windows update error code 80240016 on my computer. I have been trying to update a single file again and again, but this error is preventing the file from getting upgraded.

Can someone help me, please?

One of the solutions to your problem is as follows:

1. Click on “Start” and type “cmd.”

2. Next, select the “cmd” icon, then right-click and choose the option “Run as administrator.”

3. Then, type net stop wuauserv in the command prompt window.
4. Next, wait until the WU service stops and also wait for the command prompt to regain focus.

6. Now, type net start wuauserv in the window.

7. It would start the service again.
