List of Communication Application Protocol on Different Layers of OSI Model

Hello,

These are the main communication application protocols that are used at the application layer.

Telnet – Terminal emulation to a remote host

FTP – File Transfer Protocol (Provide File Transfer facility)

HTTP – Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (Web browsing)

HTTPS – Secure Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (Secure Web Browsing)

SMTP – Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (Send Mails)

POP3 – Post Office Protocol 3 (Receive Mails)

DNS – Domain Name System (Name Management)

NFS – Network File System

NNTP – Network News Transfer Protocol
