Long error message seen during the installation of Opera

Hi,

I use [FF 6.0] in Operating System [Ubuntu 11.04] and want to change my browser. I have a copy of Google Chrome and Opera that are yet to be installed.

I started the installation of Opera and got this long error message that can easily pass for a novel.

Hello Barbara,

You will need to make sure that the browsers that you are trying to install on the on the Ubuntu system are supported by that system, for if you are for instance trying to install browsers that are designed to work on other platforms, for instance windows, they will not be able to work on the Linux based operating system that you are using right now.

You will also need to make sure that you do the following:
Get the guide for the browsers that you want to install and then refer to it during installation.
Make sure that you use the commands appropriately at the command prompt during installation, for the errors may occur when you use wrong commands.

When computer is connected to the internet, operating system and other software installed in the computer are trying to download their updates. Hello,

I once encountered the same problem with Ubuntu and fortunately, a friend told me about the Package Manager Troubleshooting Procedure. My friend told me to perform step 1 to 4 in the procedure.
