Lotus Notes 8.5.2 RCP base plug-in error

Hello,

I am unable to install Lotus Notes 8.5.2 and getting the error message saying “RCP Base plug-in not found”. What does it mean? Can I get this plug-in to resolve the issue or any other suggestion? I would be grateful to you for any assistance. Thanks in advance.

Lotus Notes 8.5.2 RCP base plug-in error

To resolve the error you are getting, please uninstall Lotus Notes 8.5.2 from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs first and then install again.



If you don't see Lotus Notes listed in the Control Panel(OR in my case it would not uninstall), you can use the following manual uninstall process.

• First close IBM Lotus Notes if it is running.
• And then use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove IBM Lotus Notes.
• Delete the desktop icon and Start menu item.
• If it is running, end the soffice.exe and soffice.bin processes from the Task Manager window and then remove the installation folder, for example, C:Program FilesIBMLotusNotes
