I am using OS X on my Mac. Recently, the Mail on 10.3.5 keeps going to offline mode.
When I switch it back to online, it will go offline again when trying to open my emails.
The settings for this are set correctly and yet I was still unable to fix it.
It cannot even hook up to mail or DNS servers.
How will I fix it?
Let me know please.

Hi,
To resolve this issue, the priority will be to check your mail settings / DNS and password. To do this you should telnet the mail server. Simply write the following command on the command prompt:
Telnet
On the new screen type without quotation: “open (IP address of mail server) port 110
On the prompt type user name and your password
Check whether you are connected with the mail server or some error is displayed
If you are connected, then perform the actions mentioned below; otherwise, try to find the correct log in information
-
Open your inbox, and see a special triangular icon with!
-
Click on this icon, a message will be displayed informing you that MD5 authentication is not supported, you will also notice a button “Take all account online”
-
Click on this button, and then click on Mail –Preferences- Accounts- Advanced and change the MD5 Challenge- Response, to password
-
Now close and open your outlook, everything should work now
