I am not sure if this is the correct place to publish my query. I downloaded MapleStory on my Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit PC.
Today, as I was trying to launch it through Directory Video Game Launcher, in my desktop or even in the MS website, I got a problem stating “MapleStory has stopped working.” What is causing this?
How can I resolve this issue?

Try to do the steps below:
· Download maple story on a different drive like your desktop then install it. After installation, open up Nexon Folder > MapleStory > Gamelauncher.
Uninstall the game and delete the registry information before reinstalling it back. To do that, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel>Programs and Features>MapleStory>Uninstall. To Delete the registry, type regedit on run > go to Edit > Find Nexon > Delete registry entries that says Nexon or maple story in them. Make sure to delete Ahnlab files containing Maplestory and nexon as well. Restart and download/install maple story again after wards.

Hello Apollo,
To resolve that issue, you will need to try the following workarounds:
-
First, you will need to update all the drivers on your system just in case they might be out of date and as a result causing the issue that you're getting.
-
After you have updated the drivers, you will need to turn off Windows Vista DEP completely, and the turn it back on and check to see that the DirectX have also been updated.
-
Otherwise it may be an issue with compatibility problems and therefore you will need to check the version of Windows that you are using, and do a reinstallation is possible.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Carl
