May I need active sim download to unlock iPhone?

Hi friends,

I am very happy because I recently purchased iPhone 5. I know it is the best smart phone and I am crazy about it. My problem is that I have no SIM at the moment to activate my smart phone.May I need to have active sim download or not? Can I activate my phone without the SIM card?  Or I need to download some software to unlock it.

Hello Arron,

 

Unfortunately you cannot activate your iPhone without a SIM card in it. If your phone is locked, you will need a SIM card of the specific provider to activate the phone. The SIM card does not have to be activated, but still, it must be valid and current. 

 

If you still don't have your own SIM card, you can always borrow the one from a friend or family just to activate your phone.
