Hi guys,
I downloaded the student version of Maya 2012 and installed it. I think the whole installation process was completed smoothly. However, I received an error message (application error) while opening the program.
Have a look at the screenshot below. If you have any idea for the error, please help.
Thanks in advance.

Maya. exe – Application Error
Hello Hall,
That's a problem that occurs with some Autodesk products, and that includes Maya as well as Windows Vista/7, and more possibly mores with 64-bit. To resolve it , you will need to go to C:WindowsSystem32 (and C:WindowsSysWOW64 for 64-bit windows) and then get rid of all .dll files that start with “d3dx__” and then the directx version as well as some number, 24-43 for me. After that, you will need to download the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Maya. exe – Application Error
Hi
You can try this for the problem.
1. Right click on my computer go to properties.
2. Click on the advanced system settings link then go environment variable section and scroll down to see the if an environment variable is set up for PYTHONHOME or PYTHONPATH. Click on the edit button. Then copy and paste on the notepad. As well as the variable name it and you should restore it.
3. Once you have successfully saved the file, make sure you have this environment variable selected and press the delete button.
4. Close the advanced settings system window, and restart the Maya.
Thanks
