Blackberry Phone Error: Media played is of unsupported format

Hi experts,

Is there anyone facing this error before:

“The media being

played is of an

unsupported

format .”

I don’t know what the problem is. I used to listen to my music every day on BlackBerry smart phone. After this message appears, my ringtones didn’t work and also I am forced to pull my battery for a rest. I have BlackBerry Curve 8330 smart phone.

I checked the transfer protocol if it is off, but I find it on and also I checked the license expired date, but it is still valid and I used the phone before in listening music so it is not a problem of media card support.

What is the way that I can deal with such error?

Any thought?

Uthe Sutan,

Your blackberry might not support the size of the file format of the song or video file. Try performing the following actions to solve your problems. I don't know what actions you did so I generalize the solutions. 

1. If you are trying to open a media file on your Blackberry device and your device is connected to your computer, disconnect your device from the computer or turn-off mass storage mode.

2. If you are trying to open a media file on your computer using mass storage mode, verify that you have closed the media manager tool of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

3. If you are trying to open a media file on your computer using the media manager tool of the Blackberry Desktop Manager, verify that mass storage mode is turn off on your device.

4. If you encrypted the media files on your media card using media card encryption key and you are trying to open an encrypted media file using your computer or a deice other than BlackBerry device that you used to encrypt the file, insert the media card into the Blackberry device that you used to encrypt the file. In the media card options, changed the Encryption Mode field to None or Security Password.

Hi Uthe Sutan Gazpers,

I think you played unsupported audio file that’s why you came up with that Error Here’s the list of supported audio file for Blackberry smart phones.

AAC, AMR, FLAC, MP3, M4A, OGG, WMA, WAV

If you still encountering with that error just change your audio application you can download it from there apps store called app world. It might work.
