Media player closes down due to error message

Hi,

Is there something wrong with my computer because I keep getting this error message? It doesn’t matter whether I send error report or click on don't send it. It closes down my media player.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Media player closes down due to error message

Hello Domin,

I wish you could have included what the exact error message you are getting to make it easier to troubleshoot. Is it something a message that asks you whether to send an error report or not? If that is it,  you should try the following:

You should try register using the correct Wmpui.dll file for the one that is being used now may be wrong. Here is how you do it:

1. On your computer, click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, you will need to type the following command, and then click OK:
   regsvr32 %SystemRoot%system32wmpui.dll

   You will get a message that is similar to the following:

   DllRegisterServer in C:WINNTsystem32wmpui.dll succeeded.
3. After that click OK, and then start Windows Media Player again.

If you do the above and then still get the error, I will recommend reinstalling and using less installation options, and make sure that the application you are installing is supported by your system requirements.
