MediaPortal TV Server / Client Setup Installation Error

Hello techyV,

I am getting an error message when I try to install the Media Portal Software on my desktop PC.

I already have Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft visual C++ Redistributable package.

Did I miss anything? What previously installed programs might be causing the trouble?

Please help, thanks a lot.

MediaPortal TV Server / Client Setup

Microsoft visual C + + 2005 SP1 redistributable Package (x86) is not

installed.

It is a requirement for MediaPortal TV Server / Client.

Installation will be canceled.

MediaPortal TV Server / Client Setup Installation Error

Hi Estel,

There is actually a different versions of Microsoft visual C++. The one required is the Microsoft visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package for a 32-bit operating system. If you have the correct version installed, make sure that it is installed correctly.

If you had a previous version of the Microsoft visual C++ and you replaced it with a newer version, make sure that you always uninstall the previous version and install the new one. Once the old version is uninstalled, you restart your computer afterwards, you then install the new version.

After installing the new version, you restart your computer again. After the installation of the new Microsoft visual C++, you may now install the MediaPortal TV Server. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
