Hi I just purchased a new memory card for my sony cybershot camera. The problem is that, my camera won’t recognize my newly purchased memo card. Instead a message appeared stating that the memory is full. Can anyone help me about this issue? I tried reformatting my memory card but still the same problem occurred.
Memory card cannot be detected on sony cyber shot camera
Hi Molly! I understand that you purchased a new Memory card for your Sony Cybershot Camera and it seemed like the camera cannot detect the Memory card after you have formatted it. Can you try to format it using your camera and computer? If you tried to format the Memory card using the computer and won’t work in your camera, try formatting it using the feature in your camera. Format the Memory card while inserted in the card slot for the camera. There might be a file that is not compatible with the way your computer formatted it. Might as well try the format memory card using your camera settings in that way you can use it and when you are to upload your photos, use the USB cord that came with your camera instead of getting the memory card out of your camera.
Another thing is, please check if the memory card is compatible with your camera. Sony CyberShot Cameras use a different kind of card which is called the Memory Stick Pro DUO. And kindly the manual of the camera and look for the maximum memory capacity of your gadget, if it has a maximum of 8GB then you cannot use a memory card that exceeds its limit.
