Memory could not be read error on Firefox
Mr. Samuel Hills,
First of all see if you are using two or memory sticks (RAMS), if yes, take out all, and insert one RAM and start your computer. See if the error persists or not. If yes, replace this RAM with the second and so on.
If the error stops appearing then this means a RAM is bad and need to be replaced however, if the error still persist, than download the “memtest” from:
http://memtest.org/download/4.20/memtest86+-4.20.iso.zip
Unzip the file, you will find memtest86+-4.20.iso file
If you have any Cd burning software, create a bootable CD
Once the CD is created, boot from this CD, and the memtest will automatically start to run. (You may need to change the boot sequence from bios to boot from CD)
One the program starts to run it will look like the image below
You should run at least 5 to 6 passes; each pass contains same 8 tests
This can take a lot of time, be patient. You may have to leave it overnight
You will receive a result as per image below
The most important item here is the “errors” line. If you see ANY errors, even one, most likely, you have bad RAM
