Hey, the windows update client failed to detect with error 0x80072efd is supported in windows server OS and is occurred due to the proxy settings over the systems too. The same can be solved by the below given steps as follows:

• You need to run the net stop wuaserv manually
• Run the same over the systems and look for the C:\windows\distrubituion software
• Next run the net start wuaserv
• Next run the net start bits too
• Run the same separately over wuauclt\detectnow and it will be solved too.
