Microsoft Office 2010 ” (any program) has stopped working”

All programs in Microsoft Office 2010 will only open once with every restart of Windows 7 (64 bit).

Second time it says "Microsoft Word (or other) has stopped working."

Does it need to be installed on the same partition as the OS?

Or is the path wrong for a file created after it first opens?

Hi,

You will need to ensure that you have installed the latest updates for Ms Office as well as windows on your computer. Another workaround to that issue will be as follows:

• You will need to determine the offending Type 1 font that is being applied to your document, and then you will get rid of its font substitutions from the registry.
• On your computer click on start, and then type regedit in the search field, and then hit Enter.
• In the registry editor, you will have to locate the following subkey:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionFontSubstitutes
• Under font substitutes, you will choose offending Type 1 font, and then right click the font, and the click Delete.
• Once you have done that close the registry editor, and then restart your computer.
• Remove the offending Type 1 fonts from your computer.
• After that install the OpenType versions of the offending Type 1 fonts.
