Hi Experts here. I have excel file which have columns Name, Address, Contact # and email add.

But I have a problem with email address. When I entered some other character I get this error.

How can I remove this message so that I can enter the character which is included in their email address?

Thanks.

Hi,

As I understand your issue, I think you typed in a cell which has a different format that is why you are having an error that says:

This is basically because of the formatting rule you did for your spreadsheet or someone has set Data Validation on that cell.

1.       You just go to Data Tab.

2.       And find Data Validation. You can see there what data validations have been set up there.

3.       Then find on the Settings tab below Validation Criteria and to eliminate the rule, you need to choose “Any Value” from the ALLOW drop down.

4.       Or you may go to Error Alert Tab and you just have to uncheck the box that says, “show error alert after invalid data is entered.”

I hope this finds you well.

Hello there Jimmy Bond!

The problem you have encountered is just typical error Microsoft Excel user's encountered, so don't worry with that it'll be okay after reading this advice that I'm giving you. First is Click the Cell in which email data's is located, choose Format Cells and then there are a lot of Format to choose from but remember emails do contain different character so be careful, anyways let's go back to our main topic, Choose the NUMBER category there you'll find the General Format, for safety reason or to avoid errors again just choose General Format and after that try to type or paste an email and that's it there'll be no problem. I hope it gives you the answer you've been looking for, tell next time Jimmy Bond.
