I have downloaded a free Microsoft Office Visio 2007 application and installed it in my computer.
During the installation, I encountered no problem. The installation process was very smooth until it was finished.
After the installation, I run the installed Microsoft Office Visio 2007 and there goes the problem, the application won’t run, and it says “the operating system is not presently configured to run this application.”
I don’t know what the problem was and even an idea what is the problem triggering. I have tried download another copy of the installer and reinstalled it. The same problem occurred. I know that this is not the bit compatibility because I have downloaded the right application.
Error – The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.

Microsoft Office Visio 2007 could not run in Windows 7
Hi Eloise!
Microsoft Office Visio 2007 is not compatible with Windows 7. It only works on Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Only the Microsoft Office Visio PROFESSIONAL 2007 and Microsoft Office Visio STANDARD 2007 are compatible with Windows 2007.
You may check this link for more info.
If you really want to use your Microsoft Office Visio 2007, then you need to change your Operating System that will be compatible with it.
Microsoft Office Visio 2007 could not run in Windows 7
Hello Eloise,
This is a common error due to the previous versions or back up files.
Here is the simple solution for this kind of error.
1. In your control panel go to add/remove program. Uninstall all the Microsoft linked programs completely but first take your backup
2. Download the MS resource kit, install it and use the removal wizard. Set it to delete all the previous versions of Microsoft office.
3. Now go to the Microsoft folder and delete the remaining folders manually.
4. Re-install your software again and run it.
It will work fine.
Thanks
Microsoft Office Visio 2007 could not run in Windows 7
Before installing Microsoft Visio 2007, make sure your computer meets the requirements. Microsoft Visio 2007 supports Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1. It doesn’t support Windows 7 and newer operating systems.
It requires at least 233 MHz Intel Pentium II or faster processor, 128 MB RAM, 1.5 GB free space, 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution, and Windows Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. If you successfully installed the program but unable to run it, try updating your operating system to the latest Service Pack.
For users with Windows XP, download Windows XP Service Pack 3. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, download Windows Vista Service Pack 2. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows Vista. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try repairing Microsoft Visio.
Click “Start,” “Control Panel,” and then “Add or Remove Programs.” Select Microsoft Visio from the list and click “Change.” On the next screen, select “Repair” then click “Continue” and then follow the instructions. When it is finished, close Control Panel then try Microsoft Visio again and see if it works.
