Hi,
I will have to specify my problem straight to the point. I have a problem with all of my Excel attachments whenever I am opening it in Microsoft Outlook 2007. My laptop is in Vista SP2. I can open Excel application fine. I can also open any attachments, but not Excel. This suddenly happened and no configurations was changed in my personal computer.
I have attempted to repair Microsoft Office and even reinstalled it because repair did not solve it. Unfortunately, reinstallation of Office will not resolve it either. I have also tried to focus on Excel. From Excel Options, I have changed the settings in Advanced, I have cleared the option, “Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)” and restarted Excel.
Techyv people, I need help.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 cannot open an Excel file attachment
Hello Kate the problem you are facing comes under some type of bug in which it is described as an IOException that is generally occurred due to the reason that causes the error while opening the document.
The reason may be that the file you are loading may be damaged due to some reasons so its better to check once and also if possible try to convert it to other format to check whether the full data is present or any data is missing.
Check also with the application whether it is newer version or the old version and if is older one it's better to upgrade to new version so that additional features will be added to the reader.
The problem may be with missing files of adobe reader you are using so its better to uninstall completely and then you re-install it with a fresh copy of application so that error may not be rise again with ease of loading the files in which you are willing to access.
Thank You.
