Like everybody I also know that Microsoft was temporarily using 'Windows 8-style UI' as a substitute for 'Metro'.
But very recently I heard it is going to be permanently replaced. Is it true?
If yes, why are they going to do it?
Is Microsoft’s ‘Windows 8-style UI’ going to be substitute for ‘Metro’?
Hi,
“Metro” and “Windows 8 Style UI” are actually one and the same. It is the feature provided by Microsoft wherein users can customize their desktop applications in the form of tiles. Microsoft’s recent announcement was a mere situation of rebranding.
Meaning, instead of being called “Metro apps” it will be simply called “Windows 8”. It is for the reason that, according to Microsoft insiders, “Metro” terminology was more for the Microsoft team and not for the consumers. So don’t be confused. Check the photo below to see this tile feature.
