The Xbox SmartGlass is designed to be a companion application for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. It supports Windows 8 devices, Windows Phone Smartphones version 7.5 and higher, Windows RT tablets, Windows Server 2012 PCs, Android Smartphones versions 4 and later, and iOS devices versions 5 and up. It was released in October 26, 2012 together with the release of Windows 8.

Xbox SmartGlass connects with Xbox 360 and permits more interactive entertainment. It lets you use your mobile devices to serve as second screens or acts as remote controllers. For users running Windows Server 2012, the Xbox SmartGlass program can be downloaded from the Windows Store after installing the feature Windows Desktop Experience in the Server Manager.
