Hello,

At home when I updated my Visual Studio from 2010 to visual Studio 2012, after updating when I try to create a SharePoint 2013 projects or sample application I ended up with this error message. So could I able to download and install the Microsoft office developer tools and Web developer tools? Anyone can provide the direct download link? Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Error:

Microsoft Visual Studio

“An error occurred while trying to load some required components. Please ensure that the following prerequisite components are installed:

Microsoft Web Developer Tools

Microsoft Exchange Web Services.”

It is obvious that when you download Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 from the Microsoft Download Center, you will not see the prerequisite components mentioned in the error message in the download page. So if you will be downloading it, you will think that all is well when you install it. But when the actual installation begins, you will be surprised with this error mentioning some missing prerequisite components that are not yet installed.

For the Microsoft Web Developers Tools, you can download Microsoft Web Platform Installer 4.6. Microsoft Web PI is a free tool. For the prerequisite component Microsoft Exchange Web Services, you can download it from Microsoft Exchange Web Services Managed API 2.0. If you wish to download Microsoft Visual Studio again, download Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2012.

This Microsoft Visual Studio edition supports Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x86 or x64, Windows 8 x86 or x64, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 x64, and Windows Server 2012 x64.
