Monitor has vertical stretch appearance

On my dell monitor images appear stretched vertically. For example: a perfect 'square' has vertical sides are longer than the horizontal.

This is the same in all applications, eg Word, PPT or internet.

The problem occurred after re-installing XP and other applications.

How to correct?

Monitor has vertical stretch appearance

You did not mention the screen size of your Monitor. It is probably the screen resolution that is causing this problem.

You can Go to your display properties from Control Panel.

After that change your screen resolution to a different one from the one that is set now. 

And check if the problem is solved. In this way you can hopefully solve your Vertical stretch problem.
