Monitor keeps on turning off while working and blinking

Hi!

I just bought a new monitor – Asus PB287Q.everything is working well except that it keeps on turning off while doing important duties in my desktop. What usually happens is that it will turn off automatically. I will push again the power button and it will turn on. This will happen again after few minutes and for few times. I want to know what are the major causes of this problem. Is it my video card or my monitor itself? Can still fix this myself or do I need to bring it back? Can you show me how to fix this myself?

There are few steps that you can try yourself,

• As the first step, verify if there is a proper connection of the power cable & ROM and check if the problem is solved.
• If no, scan the system for viral attacks since it can also cause this issue.
• Also you can try connecting another monitor. If the issue continues, there might be a problem in power, system board or display.
• If the other monitor did not have the issue, there may be a problem with the capacitors. So, try minimizing the brightness to the least level possible. If this also proves to be useless, check if the capacitors are having round tops instead of the flat ones which hint that you would have to go for a replacement.

Further, since it is a new monitor, you can try returning or exchanging the device (if it is under guarantee).
