Hey google is implementing 3D view for its google maps ? Does anyone have any information how they are going to do it? And which technology they are going to use?

Hello,

Google map experience is increased by Web based Graphics Library (WebGL). MapsGL is using this new technology. WebGL is a new web technology. It is a binding of OpenGL ES 2.0 for JavaScript.  WebGL brings hardware accelerated 3D graphics to the browser. Firefox, Chrome, WebKit and Opera support this WebGL technology. Don’t need to install additional software. WebGL provides 3D graphics to your browser. It also brings different map views and various level of imagery.

You can also easily enable WebGL in Safari.

     First you open Safari menu. Select Preferences and then click the advanced tab on Preferences window. In the bottom of window, check the Show Develop menu. Open the Develop menu. Select Enable WebGL.
