What are the most efficient steps on how to block netscan application on my network so as to lessen power usage and avoid unnecessary interruptions of random scanning by netscan application?

Most efficient way on how to block netscan application on my network

The most efficient way to block the nets can application is from Windows is to click firewall with advanced security option from start menu. Click outbound rules and set it up for the  netscan you want to block and the same for the inbound side.

Hello Geraldine Carr,

In order to save your bandwidth you can block the required netscan application using any of the following techniques,

Solution1: You can configure your windows firewall in such a way that it will not allow the port assigned with your netscan application to access the internet. Usually, netscan uses TCP port 6000 or 22. So, you can block this port in your firewall.

Solution2: If you are admin of your network, then you can use Access Lists to deny the traffic from netscan to go to the internet, in your gateway or edge router. The command will be “Access-list  1 deny ip ” .
