Can anyone tell me what will be the result if the motherboard gets in contact with the cabinet's metal side? By metal side I mean that side where mounting holes are present without the heads & screw that are yellow-gold in color?

Motherboard in contact with cabinet metal side
Hi JimitPathak!
I would suggest that you should make sure to put your motherboard away from the cabinet's metal side because it might be grounded and worst case scenario, it will damage your motherboard. The motherboard is receiving constant electricity once your computer is turn on thus, it creates heat. And metal as we all know it, is a good conductor of heat. I believe there is a space inside the CPU intended just for the motherboard so you have to follow it. Another option to prevent the motherboard from grounding is to put a Thermal Insulated Material in between to prevent from contact or heat transfer. You can buy this material from any computer or hardware store.
